LAMAR, CO, January 3, 2017 – With the New Year, Prowers Economic Prosperity (PEP), the economic development organization for Prowers County, is poised to implement its prosperity plan that was adopted in late 2016. The prosperity plan provides a potential road map for economic growth in Prowers County. A large portion of the plan calls for having a skilled economic development staff to bring progress to our county. The PEP Board of Directors made a move at Tuesday’s meeting to expand the economic development team.
Since November, PEP has been advertising for the Executive Director that will oversee economic development in Prowers County. This position remains open. On Tuesday, the PEP Board voted to begin the hiring process for a second position – Project Coordinator. This position will provide high-level assistance to development efforts in Prowers County for existing and prospective businesses.
As the search continues for the Executive Director, PEP President Rick Robbins said it is important to get someone in the office to begin implementing the prosperity plan immediately. He added, “We are looking for spark plugs for our community – a team that will really excite economic development.”
The Project Coordinator position is open immediately and will remain open until January 23. The job announcement is available on the Prowers Economic Prosperity website at prowerspep.org. Questions about the position can be directed to Robbins or Vice-President Anne-Marie Crampton through the PEP office at 719.336.2384 or e-mail at info@prowerspep.org.
