EMERGENCY SERVICE COMMUNICATOR – The City of Lamar is accepting applications for an Emergency Service Communicator in the E-911 Dispatch Center. Schedule: Graveyard 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Under general supervision is responsible for receiving all calls to Communications Center, analyzing the calls, and determining the appropriate need for response. He/she notifies law enforcement, fire, and/or ambulance personnel or requests for service and follows through on all responses. Performs work that varies somewhat but is performed within prescribed standards. Starting Salary: $14.36 per hour. Fire Engineer/EMT-I The City of Lamar is accepting applications for a Fire Engineer/EMT-I. Under general supervision, responds to alarm and other emergency calls to protect life and property; drives and operates fire equipment and apparatus; participates in fire prevention programs including inspections, station maintenance, and training activities; operates and carries out Emergency Medical Technician duties; leads volunteers. Work varies requiring individual judgment within prescribed standards and procedures. Job Requirements: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, one year of experience as a Firefighter or as a volunteer and knowledgeable in all aspects of general fire- fighting tactics, and operations of all fire apparatus and equipment. Shall be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate, by the State of Colorado, or EMT-Basic with IV certification and is willing to obtain EMT-Intermediate certification. Applicants must possess a valid Colorado driver’s licenses. Applicants shall be certified as a Fire Fighter 1 under the Colorado Division of Fire Safety or become certified within two years. FIELD WORK – ($15/hr) – Daily monitoring and inspection of hemp crop and irrigation. Must be able to perform physical labor, have reliable transportation, general knowledge of farming/crop, and mechanical skills/ability to make irrigation repairs. Ability to work with a team on rotating schedule, 7 days/week, work location approximately 7 miles, from outskirts of Lamar. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.
