Lamar Police Department conduct search warrant, arrest Anthony Esparza on multiple felony counts

Officers of the Lamar Police Department executed a search warrant on a room at the Days Inn,clocated in the 1300 Blk N. Main St on August 10 th , 2026.cOfficers secured numerous firearms to include firearms with serial numbers which had beenctampered with or altered and firearms without any observable serial numbers. Ammunition and paraphernalia indicative of illegal narcotics distribution, along with approximately 100cgrams of a controlled substance were seized in addition to the firearms.
As a result of the search warrant, Anthony Esparza (40) of Lamar was taken into custody andccharged with numerous felony charges to include:

Unlawful Possession w/Intent to Distribute (Sch II controlled substance)
CRS 18-18-405 (1)(a)(2)(b)(I)(a) DF2
Possession of More Than 4 Grams of Controlled Substance

Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine Prohibited
CRS 18-12-302(1)(i) F6
Possession of Defaced Firearm X2
CRS 18-12-103 M1
Unlawful Possession of an Un-serialized Firearm
CRS 18-12-111.5 (3)(a) M1
Anthony Esparza is being held at the Prowers County Jail on a $50,000 Dollar bond.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
