(Lamar, CO) March 25, 2019 –

Team Members at Prowers Medical Center in coordination with the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting emergency preparedness training on Friday, March 29, 2019.

The training exercise is not open to the general public. This notification is being provided to alert the community that the exercise is a staged event to help our staff become better prepared to respond to an actual event.

Organizers caution that during the exercise, the local community can expect to see emergency responders and hospital staff engaging in activities as if it were a true emergency response event. Normal hospital operations and patient care will not be affected by the drills in any way.

This is a mock exercise but it is also a very real test of our ability to respond to an actual disaster event. We appreciate the cooperation of the community to refrain from interfering with any of our training activities.
