Carol Sue Fugett Roseberry – October 3, 1936 – August 12, 2026

Carol Sue Fugett Roseberry, 89, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away on August 12, 2026, following a fall that resulted in a broken hip and surgery.  She was born on October 3, 1936, in Wanette, Oklahoma, and lived a life marked by faith, family, teaching, service, and love for others.

Sue was a devoted Christian woman whose faith was at the center of her life. She faithfully served her church communities at First Baptist Church in Lamar, Colorado, and Southmoore Baptist Church in Moore, Oklahoma. She served as a Sunday School teacher, sharing her love of the Lord and her gift for teaching with generations of children and families.

Teaching was one of Sue’s greatest passions. As a third-grade teacher, she loved helping children learn, grow, and discover the world around them. She had a natural gift for teaching and a genuine love for her students. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, she loved sharing her Potawatomie Heritage in her yearly Indian lessons and field trips to the Kiva in La Junta every year, and the lessons she taught were remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Sue was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared her life with her husband, Charles Dixon Roseberry, who she married at the age of 18 in Ada, Oklahoma.  They were married for 53 years, and she treasured her family deeply. She is survived by her children, Carey (Chele) Roseberry, Carol Lesli Bachus, and Jerry (Ashley) Roseberry.

Her grandchildren include Chelsea (Patrick) Miller and Cadie Roseberry, Alan Horn and Amy (Michael) Christophorou, and Walker Roseberry. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Landry and Luke Miller and Nicholas Christophorou.

Outside of teaching and church, Sue enjoyed the simple pleasures of a full and active life. She loved golfing, cooking, baking, spending time with friends, singing in the Church choir, and traveling. She especially enjoyed sharing the things she loved with the people around her. Whether she was preparing a meal, baking something special, traveling to a new place, spending time on the golf course, meeting with the Clio Club, playing Bridge with the Spaars, or teaching, Sue found ways to bring people together and make memories.

Sue’s life was a testament to the importance of faith, family, service, and kindness. She gave generously of herself and touched countless lives through her work as a teacher, her service to her church, her friendships, and her love for her family.

Although her family and friends deeply mourn her passing, they find comfort in the Christian faith that sustained Sue throughout her life. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith and love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, former students, church family, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Her family takes comfort in the words she held dear:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Sue will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and all whose lives she touched.

Sue was preceded in death by Charles Dixon Roseberry and Michael G. Bachus.  We are comforted by the large number of family and friends that greeted her at the Pearly Gates.

A private inurnment will be held at Resthaven Cemetery.
