Lamar Police Department executes search warrant, arrests Richard Wayne Jones on 15 criminal charges

On 09/06/2026 Officers of the Lamar Police Department executed a search warrant at a
location in the 500 Blk of E. Oak St. The location has had prior search warrants executed
regarding narcotics distribution. During the search warrant, numerous narcotics and evidence
of narcotics distribution were located along with firearms and defaced firearms. Illegal narcotics
seized included Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Methadone, Heroin, Fentanyl, Xanax, Psilocybin
mushroom and “crack”.
Richard Wayne Jones, 50, of Lamar was arrested for numerous criminal offenses. Richard
Wayne Jones was found to currently be on bond for similar charges from earlier this year in
case 26CR3, where he is charged with numerous counts of Possession with the Intent to
Distribute. Richard Wayne Jones is currently held on a no bond hold pending his first scheduled
appearance on 15 various criminal charges to include:

CRS 18-18-405 (1)(2) and (2)(c)
Unlaw Possession of a controlled substance with Intent to Distribute DF3/4
CRS 18-18-403.4 (1)(2)
Unlawful Possession of less than 4 Grams of a Controlled Substance DM-1
CRS 18-6-803.5 Violation of a Protection Order M-1
CRS 18-12-103 Possession of a Defaced Firearms M-1
