Timothy S. Martinez…October 17, 1951 – January 5, 2017

Mass of Christian burial for Timothy S. Martinez will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, Colorado. Father Henry Wertin will officiate. A Rosary/Scripture service will be held at 9:30 a.m., also at the church. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Lyon National Cemetery in Las Animas, Colorado. Military Rites will be provided by VFW Post #2411 and American Legion District #1 Post #6.

Timothy Steven Martinez was born to Margarito and Ramona (Sanchez) Martinez on October 17, 1951 in Las Animas, Colorado and passed away on January 5, 2017 in Englewood, Colorado at the age of 65.

Timothy enjoyed swimming, fishing, attending the sporting events of family members, and loved watching the Denver Broncos and all outdoor activities. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and treasured the time he spent with all his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Maes) Martinez of Las Animas, Colorado; children, Melissa (J.J. Duran) Martinez, Timothy (Jamie) Martinez both of Las Animas, Colorado; siblings, Fred Martinez of Corpus Cristy, Texas, Mary Ann Ramirez of Las Animas, Colorado, Laura (Shone) Salas of Ordway, Colorado, Juanita (Greg) Martinez of Grand Junction, Colorado; and four grandchildren, Darius Baca, Damien Baca, Allyssa Martinez, and Myah Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Ramona (Sanchez) Martinez; brother, Joe Lee Martinez, and four infant siblings, Harold, Pete, Eddie, and Janie Laura.
