Big R Donates Multi-Use Cart to Prowers Posse

When the basic cost of repairs for the golf cart used by the Prowers County Sheriff’s Posse was set at a minimum of $1,200, the members knew the price tag would be beyond their budget. That’s where the Big R Corporation came to their aid, donating a brand new cart this past Friday, April 21st.
Deputy Palacios put in a call to Adam Carroll, COO of Big R, to see what could be done on the Posse’s behalf and it only took about a week before a replacement cart was ready to roll into service.
The Friday rains stopped just long enough Friday morning for Deputy Brian Settles to roll the cart off the trailer and onto the parking lot of the Lamar Big R Store on East Olive Street. Sheriff Sam Zordel said the next task will be to find a storage area to house the cart while it’s not being used. Settles said the new model has a higher profile than the older one, but it will still be perfect for a variety of uses. Palacios said the cart has enough speed and power to be used off-road as well as for service during activities at the fairgrounds.
