Henry T. Dowen, Jr….July 25, 1941 – December 16, 2018

A graveside funeral service for former Lamar resident, currently of Kimberling City, MO, Henry T. Dowen, Jr. will be held at 12:00 PM Noon on Friday December 21, 2018 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. Pastor Travis Walker of the Wiley/McClave United Methodist Church will officiate the service.

Visitation for Henry will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday December 21, 2018 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar.

Henry T. Dowen, Jr. was born on July 25, 1941 in Lamar, CO to Henry T. Dowen, Sr. and Nellie Wallace-Dowen-Tyler and departed this life on Sunday December 16, 2018 at the Shepherd of the Hills Living Center in Branson, MO at the age of 77.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife – Sarah Dowen.

Henry is survived by three children – Sonya L. Thompson of Solomon, KS; Sophia K. Dewey of Assaria, KS; and Henry T. “Hank” (Angela D.) Dowen, III of Reeds Spring, MO; by six grandchildren – Amanda (Vernon) Zook of Talmage, KS; Meghan (Stan) Henley of Hutchison, KS; Sheyenne Drylie of Hoisington, KS; Ashley (David) Kleist; Kyle Goble; and Tyra Thompson all of Solomon, KS; and by eight great grandchildren – Emma Kleist; Jessa Kleist; Shay Goble; Kaylin Zook; Karter Zook; Kaleb Zook; Eli Suskey; and Natalie Suskey as well as by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
