Rural Philanthropy Days was discussed. The dates for this event are June 13-15. Holly Fun Club member Jackie Leiker further explained Rural Philanthropy Days, after her discussion with Ann Marie Crampton earlier in the month. No motion was made regarding a Holly Commercial Club donation.
The March KVAY radio ads were approved as heard.
President Frey updated the group with upcoming events and informed the Club that Dr. Jacob Holdren had contacted the Holly Commercial Club to see if they would be interested in running the Cornhole Tournament, during the Holly Gateway Classics 2018. The HCC will be handling the management of the tournament.
Holly Hock-It will occur in August.
Rod Swisher, Tumbleweed Welding and Repair, mentioned that he was able to successfully secure funds from the Prowers County Lodging Tax Panel for advertising for the Holly Bluegrass Festival in June. He has secured two bands for the Friday night Jam Session. It was suggested that the HCC keeps track of the exact numbers served during the BBQ Dinner, on the Friday night of the Bluegrass Festival.
Jackie Leiker, Holly Fun Club, reminded the HCC of their Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday March 25 at 12:15 pm, at the Gateway Park. It is the hope of the Fun Club that the Holly Volunteer Fire Department volunteers time to help hide over 1,000 eggs. The Holly Fun Club is also asking for donations of plastic eggs and non-melting candy. It was suggested to avoid the melted chocolate-type. To donate, please contact Jackie Leiker or a member of the Holly Fun Club Executive Team.
Curtis Klinghammer, Holly Historical Society, teased the Alumni Weekend and the Special Dedication Honoree. For your calendars, mark the first weekend of May. KVAY will be utilizing Public Service Announcements for the Easter Egg Hunt and Alumni Weekend dedication.
The Holly Community Area Wide Clean-Up is tentatively scheduled for Saturday April 28.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:10pm and remember, the April meeting is Friday April 6th at 6 pm at the Holly United Methodist Church.
