CSP Investigating Hwy 50 Single Vehicle Crash

The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle crash Monday, March 12th at approximately 5:31pm involving serious bodily injury that occurred on Colorado 50 at Mile Post 428, approximately six miles west of Lamar.
A 1999 Ford F350, driven by Omar Ayala, age 24, of Wiley, Colorado, was westbound on Colorado 50 when the F350 went off the right side of the roadway colliding with a guardrail. The F350 continued westbound off the roadway before it came to rest approximately 28 feet from the roadway facing northwest.
The passenger was transported from the scene to Prowers Medical Center in Lamar with serious bodily injuries. The driver and passenger were not restrained by a seatbelt. Alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed are not factors in the crash.
