Squeezing the Employees

Magician Christian Augustine and April provided the entertainment for the Lamar Chamber of Commerce’s annual Farm City Banquet this past Friday, November 10th.  This year marked a departure from the musical entertainment for the annual banquet, which helps fund activities for local FFA chapters in the area.

Bob DeLancey

Emceed by KVAY’s Bob DeLancey, the evening offered a brisket dinner served by the FFA members, the annual Beef Carcass Awards and an hour of magic which included a local aspect to some traditional legerdemain.

April, Endures On-the-Job-Training

Magician Christian, who has entertained in Las Vegas, and April, who served as his sorcerer’s apprentice, included some youngsters from the audience to be sawed in half or take their turns handling magic rings or floating desks.


Dawson Roesch, McClave FFA

Dawson Roesch, the Arkansas Valley District 7 President from McClave, offered his thanks to the audience and Lamar Chamber on behalf of their organization. Each year, the local FFA chapters serve the meals and setup and clean the tables afterwards.  The Chamber donates a portion of the proceeds from the meal to the FFA Chapters to finance their activities through the coming year.

Beef Carcass and Buyers

Nolan Davis, Beef Superintendent from the CSU Extension Office, presented the annual Beef Carcass Awards: 5th place exhibitor was Reese Harvey with Flower Boutique as their buyer; 4th place exhibitor was Angelina Downing with Mauch Farms and Lori Peterson-Payne Agency as their buyer; 3rd place exhibitor was Micaela Wollert with Beck Pointon as the buyer; 2nd place exhibitor was Kaden Humrich with Colorado Mills as the buyer and 1st place exhibitor was Walker Neugebauer with Davis Farms as the buyer.
