A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Viola Mae Stickler, will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00PM until 7:00PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Viola was born on May 14, 1917 at Richfield, Kansas to Roy A. and Goaldya V. (Weatherford) Butts and passed away on October 22, 2017 at her home in Lamar at the age of 100.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, John Ethelbert Scott, second husband, Byron G. Stickler, her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ivan Cramer and her parents.
Viola is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Richard) Parker of Lamar, step-children, Tommy (Cecilia) Stickler of Pasco, WA, Pat (Gene) Stickler of Joplin, MO and Dick (Mary Ann) Stickler of Lamar, grandchildren, Sherri (Jan Brunner) Cramer of Minneapolis, MN, Coletta (Joe) Foster of Lamar and Wayne Meyeres of Gardner, CO, great-grandchildren, Stacy Meyeres, Jonathan (Rochelle Penrod) Meyeres, Tyler Meyeres, Jason Foster and Christina Foster as well as eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by her brother Edgar Butts of Whittier, CA as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
