An inmate at the Prowers County Jail was rushed to the Prowers Medical Center emergency room Wednesday afternoon, June 14th, at around 1pm. A spokesman from the Sheriff’s Office said it was due to self- inflicted injuries. The inmate allegedly attempted to hang himself but was noticed in time.
He was flown, flight-for-life, to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, where he received additional treatment. The spokesman said the inmate has recovered enough that he will be returned to the County Jail either by today or in the immediate future. The inmate’s name is not being released because of medical confidentiality.
