Lela Frances Dennis..March 9, 1945 – January 29, 2017

A Memorial Service for Lela Dennis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Horber Funeral Chapel in Las Animas, Colorado. Pastor Diane Hutson will officiate.

Lela Frances Dennis, affectionately known as “Francie”, was born on March 9, 1945 in La Junta, Colorado and passed away on January 29, 2017 in Canon City, Colorado at the age of 71.

Lela spent much of her life in the service of others, as a nurse aide and taking great care of family and friends. Lela played three instruments, had a beautiful singing voice and loved art.

Lela is survived by her four children, Wendy McLaughlin, John Dennis, Jenny Kunze, Danny Dennis; four siblings, Carrie Rush, Jean Morris, Barb Peterson, Ted Morris; and many loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lela Flinn and Betty Morris; husband of 53 years, Johnny Steve Dennis; and siblings, Terri Filbin, Robbie Ranes, Denzil Fitz, and Judy Morris.
