Wayne M. Mathes…November 6, 1934 – November 13, 2016

A memorial service for current Lamar resident, Wayne M. Mathes will be held at a later date.  Per Wayne’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.

Wayne was born on November 6, 1934 at Memphis, Missouri to Okla Lee and Bessie (Walker) Mathes and passed away on November 13, 2016 at Prowers Medical center in Lamar at the age of 82.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Henry, Harold and Raymond Mathes; Pauline Hohstead and Yvonne Arnold.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Joyce Mathes of the family home in Lamar; sisters, Alice Harvey and Lela Trueblood both of Memphis, MO; brother-in-law, Max Bennett of Lamar and nephew, Justin (Cindy) Bennett of Lamar. He is also survived by his cousin, Katherine Lasley of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
