Healthy Places of Lamar has received a $10,000 grant from Huddleston-Butler Memorial Foundation to fund the Skatepark Construction Project at Willow Creek Park. The grant will be used to leverage more funding to complete the project.

“Our community considers a skatepark to be a top priority in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. We are so grateful for this funding, which will get us closer to bringing a dream come to life for Lamar. We will continue to look for other funding opportunities. However, our community has the opportunity to be a part of this project, and we encourage the community to participate through volunteering or donations,” said Renee Beebe, Healthy Places coordinator.

The grant will continue the work of Healthy Places, a community-led initiative to create a healthier and more active community through infrastructure improvements and programs – providing opportunities for everyone in Lamar to be healthy.

For more information on the Skatepark Construction Project, Healthy Places or to learn how you can support these community efforts, please visit the Lamar Healthy Places Facebook page or call Renee Beebe at 719-691-6112.
