Statement Supporting Rep. Ty Winter’s Vote Against SB25-288

Rep. Ty Winter stood firm and voted against SB25-288 because when it comes to protecting our children from child exploitation and nonconsensual AI intimate depictions, a yes vote on weak legislation is unacceptable! We must completely ban this vile, predatory content and throw these perpetrators behind bars where they belong. Not only was this bill rushed through and passed in the final days before session ended, it fell dangerously short of real protection for kids, and Rep. Winter refused to compromise children’s safety by punishing some offenders while giving others a free pass. Lawmakers across the aisle rightly sounded the alarm of the inadequacies and scope of this legislation This recklessly rushed legislation doesn’t just fall short, it creates massive liability shields for Big Tech AI companies, fails to deliver meaningful safeguards, and it actively endangers children by creating exploitable loopholes.

Ty Winter has a proven, unwavering record of protecting Colorado’s children. This disgusting smear is a pathetic, desperate attack from the failing Vic Meyers campaign, which is sinking fast and getting no traction with voters who reject such dishonest tactics. In stark contrast to Vic Meyers, whose whole campaign is a sleazy personal vendetta rather than any real commitment to serving the people, Rep. Winter fights every day with principled, effective leadership that safeguards families and defends our freedoms. Colorado deserves warriors for results, not cowards peddling smears. Do not believe “Meyers the Liar.”
