News release from Lamar PD on arrest of Lamar man for multiple charges including sexual assault on a child

On 07/14/2026 The Lamar Police Department submitted an arrest warrant for Jade Downey (37) of Lamar. The warrant was submitted after an extensive investigation, including forensic digital data analysis, into allegations in connection with the below posted charges.

The Lamar Police Department would like to thank the Rocky Ford Police Department and Otero County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the arrest of Jade Downey; their partnership in making the arrest makes the entire surrounding area safer.

Jade Downey is set for a bond hearing on the listed charges on 07/16/2026 and is currently in custody in the Prowers County Jail.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
