Lovina Rhoda Jackson, 96, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at Fowler Health Care Center in Fowler, Colorado.
Lovina was born on November 23, 1929, in Saint Paul, Arkansas, to Lorin and Pearl (Minks) Chambers.
She was raised alongside her two brothers, Ted and Bobby. During her childhood, her family moved to
California for her father’s work before eventually settling in Las Animas, Colorado. Lovina graduated
from high school in Las Animas and began her working career with a local physician and newspaper.
On November 25, 1953, she married the love of her life, Willie Jackson. Their first son, Daniel, was born
on October 14, 1954. When Daniel was a year old, the family moved to Fowler, Colorado, where they
welcomed a second son, David, on April 27, 1956.
Lovina was a hardworking and devoted member of the Fowler community. Over the years, she sold
Tupperware, worked at Mother’s Kitchen, and later earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
She dedicated many years of service to the local nursing home before retiring. Family was at the center of Lovina’ss life. Her son Daniel married Celeste Schulz on July 12, 1975, and together they blessed the family with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren. Lovina cherished every one of them and found great joy in watching her family grow through the generations.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Lovina taught Sunday school and Bible study at the Church of the
Nazarene. She was also a faithful member of the Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s
Group. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life and was an inspiration to those around her.
Lovina was preceded in death by her parents, Lorin and Pearl Chambers; her brothers, Ted Chambers
and Bobby Chambers; her beloved husband, Willie Jackson; and her son, Daniel Jackson.
She is survived by her son, David Jackson; daughter-in-law, Celeste Jackson; grandchildren Troy (Tricia)
Jackson, Jennifer (Calvin) Pfeiff, Charlotte Jackson, and Dustin (Quela) Jackson; 18 great-grandchildren;
six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cherished friends and extended family members.
Lovina will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering faith, dedication to her family, and the care
she gave to others throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family
she loved so dearly.
A Graveside Service for Lovina Jackson will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2026 at Bent County-Las Animas Cemetery Elder Chapel. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of
Valley Funeral & Cremation in Las Animas, Colorado.
