Fly-in and pancake breakfast Saturday, June 27, 2026 offer fun for the whole family!

Are you looking for something fun and different to do with your family?  A fly-in and pancake breakfast in Lamar on Saturday, June 27, 2026 is just the thing!  Hosted by EEA Chapter #301 (EEA is the Experimental Aircraft Association), the festivities begin at 9 am with a pancake breakfast courtesy of the Lamar Lions Club.  Admission is free – donations are accepted for the pancake breakfast.  The event runs until 1 pm at the Southeast Colorado Regional Airport west of Lamar.

Founded in 1953 by a group of individuals in Wisconsin who were interested in building their own airplanes, the EEA expanded into its mission of growing participation in aviation to include antiques, classics, warbirds, aerobatic aircraft, ultralights, helicopters, and contemporary manufactured aircraft.  You can expect to see a variety of aircraft at the Lamar fly-in!

Awards will be presented in 12 Lamar-focused categories, including longest distance traveled, best ranch plane, people’s choice and more.  The City of Lamar is also offering “swag bags” to all pilots and encouraging them to explore the city after the event, with a 45-minute shuttle tour of the Lamar area and free transport to and from Lamar by city workers. The Southeast Colorado Regional Airport offers economical hanger rates for pilots as well as a 6,000 foot paved runway with an additional asphalt cross runway. Currently, 10-12 pop-up tents will be at the event with representatives from the City of Lamar, Prowers County, Prowers Economic Prosperity, Lamar Community College, local banks and more.  Food trucks will also be in attendance.

Mark your calendars, bring your sunscreen and enjoy a fun day at the airport!
