Evening Candlelight Tours at Bent’s Old Fort  on December 2 & 3, 2022

La Junta, CO – Tickets are on sale now for the Evening Candlelight Tours at Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site on the nights of December 2 and 3, 2022.

During the tours, guests will experience the fort beautifully lit with luminarias and firelight as living history staff dressed in period clothing depict life at the fort in the winter of 1847. The event includes bonfires, music, and hot cider. This is a unique opportunity to explore the lives of the people who once lived and worked at the trading fort on the Santa Fe Trail in the 1840s during the Fur Trade and the Mexican American War.

Tickets can be purchased at https://www.recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777. Tickets will not be sold at the fort on the nights of the event and must be bought in advance. The cost is $10 per person for all participants, regardless of age. This event usually sells out, so do not wait until the last minute to buy tickets.

On the nights of the event, registered guests should arrive 15 minutes prior to their reservation time. Participants arriving late for their scheduled tour time will miss their tour. Tickets cannot be substituted for another tour date or time, and there are no refunds.

A printed ticket or downloaded digital ticket is required and must be presented to a park representative upon check-in. Digital tickets need to be downloaded in advance of arrival since there is no wi-fi or cell phone coverage at the fort parking lot and it may be impossible to access reservations once on site.

Participants must be able to walk the ¼ mile paved, level trail to the fort and back, and they must be able to stand and walk the entire time of the 90-minute tour. No shuttle services are available.

Details and updates on park operations will be posted on the park website https://www.nps.gov/beol/index.htm and on social media channels (https://www.facebook.com/NPSBentsFort).
