Lamar Store Makes Gift to Veteran and Local Resident

JR Mattresses LLC at 120 West Olive in Lamar has donated a Sealy Posture-Pedic, queen-size mattress to a US Navy Veteran who lives in Prowers County. The recipient, Bartolo Medina, US Navy (1978 – 1982) expressed his thanks to the company which has been in operation in Lamar since this past April.
Thank you to Jason Abitia, US Veteran and owner of JR Mattresses for his donation. Prowers County Veteran’s Representative, Gary Harbert, told The Prowers Journal, additional mattresses are earmarked for donations to local residents including a member of the Lamar Fire Department and another City of Lamar employee who is in need of furnishings.
One such individual was Alicia Alvarez who received $50 to help with school supplies for her three grandchildren as well as a new mattress.
