Elks Honor the February Students of the Month

February’s students of the month represent those values, beliefs, actions and a dedication in becoming something great. This desire to succeed celebrates the achievement of these individuals. The Lamar Elks are proud to embrace these traditions through a dinner and recognizing the students for their efforts.
The students of the month for February are: Diego Martinez, Yosselin Gomez, Ethan Eddy, Dianeyd Lopez and Austin Thacker. Diego is in the 8th grade at Lamar Middle School. He loves sports (specifically wrestling) and spending time with his friends / family. After high school, Diego plans on perusing a career in law enforcement and criminal investigations. Yoseelin is active in DECA at Lamar High School. Her favorite subject is mathematics. She plans on studying psychology at Metro State University.
Ethan is a member of the student council at Lamar High School and has earned an academic letter. His favorite class is art. He plans on becoming an artist. Dianeyd is in the 7th grade at Lamar Middle School. Her favorite subjects are English and art. She plans on attending the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Austin is in the 7th grade at Lamar Middle School. His favorite subject is science. In the future, he plans on earning a degree in science at a major college or university.
These students show the promise of Lamar’s younger generation. They represent everything that is great about this community and the people in it. The Elks are honoring and recognizing these efforts to support its continuing mission of caring and sharing.
