Holly Fire and Ambulance Election Set for October 9

Approximately 900 voters in the Holly Ambulance and Fire District will be able to cast their ballots for the five new District board members by Tuesday, October 9th, according to Jana Rushton, Election Official.

There are 13 candidates on the ballot as well as a write-in candidate and voters will be able to either mail in their selections or drop off their ballot in person to the Ambulance Barn at 115 North First Avenue. Ballots will be accepted in person that day from 8am until 7pm.

The top five vote-getters will receive a seat on the board and will be selected to serve either a two year or four year term. The board will also decide on a representative to serve on a three person committee to oversee funds from the November Ballot Question 1A should it pass.  That question calls for the establishment of a county sales tax increase of 0.025 per cent to fund ambulance service in Prowers County.  Should that question be defeated, there would be no need for a representative to be selected.

The candidates are: Marge Campbell, Sharilyn Crum,  Robert Fletcher,  Jarod Gulley,  Cathy Hausner,  Austin Hazen,  Rodney Hazen,  Jessalyn Hilger,  Jacob Holden,  Dennis Leathers,  Rodney Swisher,  Thomas Wagner,  Janice Weisenhorn.   Write in Candidate  –  Justin Willhite.
