Janice Berndt…May 31, 1950…April 26, 2018

 

Janice Lee Berndt passed away surrounded by her family on April 26, 2018. Janice was born on May 31, 1950 in Jamestown, North Dakota.  She graduated from high school in 1968 in Lamar, Colorado.  On August 15th of that same year, she married Frederick Guy Berndt, and this year would have marked their 50th anniversary.

Janice held several jobs over the years. She worked briefly as a receptionist for the local medical clinic, as a cashier at Jack and Jill grocery store, and as a cook for the Stanton County High School.  Janice spent most of her life as a homemaker and taking care of the financial and book-keeping matters of the family business, Berndt Construction.  Janice was well known for her love of animals, piano playing and creating a warm family environment with home-cooked meals.  Anyone who visited the Berndt residence would experience her passion for creating a beautiful and clean home.  Janice was passionate about nurturing plants in and outside the home.  She took pride in their beautiful home.

Above all, Janice was filled with love, love for her husband and her family. Since 2005, Janice and Guy were retired and living in St. David, Arizona.

Janice leaves behind Guy Berndt, Nicki Berndt, Tonya Schwertner (Kris), Mike Berndt (Stephanie), Jana Zaudke (Sean), five grandchildren, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, Colorado.
