(Lamar, Colorado; February 24, 2018) The Innovate & Make Space (I&MS) at Lamar Community College will host its first-ever Maker Camp this coming spring break.  The four-day camp is open to area 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  It will be held March 12-15 from 9:00am to noon each day.

The Maker Camp will include fun, hands-on projects using the I&MS equipment including the 3D printer, laser cutter, and vinyl cutter.  Attendees will also get to participate in a group cardboard challenge.

“Our Maker Camp will be a great opportunity for these students to stretch their imagination,” said I&MS manager Laura Misenheimer. “We will be incorporating personalized design elements into each project, making our final creations truly unique.

The fee for the camp is $60 per student, which includes the cost of materials.  This year, the fee is partially subsidized by the Innovate & Make Space grant.

Space is limited to ten campers.  Anyone interested in attending should reserve their spot with Laura Misenheimer as soon as possible by calling 719.336.1584 or by email at laura.misenheimer@lamarcc.edu.
