Northwest Kansas Technical College Students Receive National Electrical Scholarship

Granada Students

The National Center for Construction Education and Resource (NCCER) and it is Build Your Future initiative have recently partnered with the Human Resources Construction Council (HRCC) to create a national BYF scholarship program for deserving individuals pursuing a career in construction through craft and technical programs. Two Northwest Tech students have been fortunate to be selected as recipients this year.

The scholarships for the program are available to high school seniors, military service members, postsecondary students or anyone planning to attend a technical school or approved a craft-training program in any discipline of construction.

This year Northwest Tech is proud to announce that two of our students have been selected for the scholarship. Juan Estrada and David Flores, both of Granada, Colorado are the recipients of the national scholarship. Juan and David completed the application process and were chosen to receive the $500 scholarships each to be applied to their studies through the Electrical Technology program at Northwest Tech. Instructor Rob Loftin said, “These students represent Northwest Tech and our program well every day, and we are proud that their efforts have been recognized.” Both students are first-year Electrical Technology students and anticipate graduating with their Associates of Applied Science Degree in spring 2019.
