Two traffic accidents came to note in Lamar since this past Saturday, December 16th. Saturday around 1pm, a vehicle, jumped the curb on the south side of the parking lot of Thai Spicy Basil at 10 South Main in Lamar and went east through the front window, into the dining area. Fortunately no one was injured in the accident and in a matter of hours, the broken window was boarded and the debris was cleared. Complete repairs were underway as of this Monday morning.
Just around 8am on Monday, December 18, Prowers County emergency response vehicles, Lamar Police, the Colorado State Patrol and the Lamar Fire and Ambulance Department responded to a bottom-dump truck rollover at the Big Timbers intersection on Highway 287, just south of the Museum.
The truck rolled off the highway to the right as it was entering the KLMR curve and came to rest on its right side, taking down a power/light pole. There were no reports of any injuries in the single-vehicle accident at the time of this publication.
