William Lewis Martin…September 4, 1965 – October 19, 2017

William Lewis Martin, the son of Frank Turner “Rowdy” Martin and Betty Ruth (Wright) Martin, was born September 4, 1965, in Alamosa, Colorado.  He entered into eternal rest on October 19, 2017, in Boise City, Oklahoma, at the age of 52 years.

William is better known to most as Jack.  Jack was raised in Alamosa, Colorado.  Jack attended and graduated from high school, in Mosca, Colorado.

Jack was united in marriage to Carolyn Marie Richardson on April 5, 1986, at the College Heights Baptist Church, in Alamosa, Colorado.  This union was blessed with three children, Cassie Jean, Betty Rose and Rowdy Jack.

After Jack and Carolyn were married, Jack worked on the Zapata Ranch for a few years as a cowboy.  The family continued to live in the San Luis Valley where Jack worked for various ranches.  Jack loved the outdoors and working as a cowboy.  He enjoyed being outside working with the cattle and horses.  In 1993, the family moved to Lamar.  Jack drove a truck for a few years.

In June of 1999,  Jack surrendered his life to Christ and went into full time Cowboy Evangelism Ministry.  Jack pastured the Mid Valley Church, in Hasty, Colorado and Parkview Baptist Church, in Las Animas, Colorado, for a number of years.  Jack and Carolyn did tent revivals for many years.  They have helped lead many people to the Lord thru their work.  They’ve made many lasting friendships from the revivals over the years.

Jack when he was younger loved his horses and cows, when he surrendered to the Lord he was very passionate in sharing God’s word.  Jack’s motto was “Just Braggin’ On Jesus”.
Jack loved the Lord, his family, his grandkids and his many friends.

Jack was a member of the Abundant Grace Church, in Boise City, Oklahoma.  He was the chairman for the Rolling Hills Cowboy Ministries for over 24 years.

Jack was preceded in death by his dad, Rowdy Martin and one sister, Jeannie Lorenz.
Survivors include:  his wife, Carolyn, of the home, his three children, Cassie Jean Bachman and husband Levi, Betty Rose Maness and husband Coe, and Rowdy Jack Martin and wife Meagan, all of Boise City, Oklahoma, his mother, Betty Ruth Martin, Alamos, Colorado, one brother, Frank Turner Martin Jr and wife Shellie, Gunnison, Colorado, two sisters, Shirley Ann Whiteman and husband Bobby, Monte Vista, Colorado and Sandra Kay Rose and husband Calvin, Cannon City, Colorado, three grandchildren, Kaylee Marie Bachman, Patrick Wyatt Bachman and Easton John Wilson-Maness, all of Boise City, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Boise City First Baptist Church, Boise City, Oklahoma with Chantry Davis and B.J. Ballard, officiatining.  Interment will be in the Boise City Cemetery.  The family has suggested memorials to the Cimarron Memorial Hospital, they may be left in care of the mortuary.  Services by Cimarron Mortuary, Boise City, Oklahoma.
