Firehouse Fun on a Saturday

Do I Hear Rain?

The annual Firehouse Carnival, hosted by the Lamar Fire and Ambulance Department, got underway at 5pm on July 22nd, at BiCentennial Park, just south of the firehouse.

Testing Their Skills

Various games of skill were set up again this year for the small-fry, who could buy tickets and then try their hand at dunking a bucket of water on girls, knocking over ping pong balls with a small water cannon, take a ride on the pickle barrel express, try their hand at the ring toss or several other events.

It was a nice way to get a break in the action on a Saturday in the summer and help raise some funds for the Lamar Fire Department, usually with proceeds going to the annual fireworks fund. This year’s total came to $342 with a thanks from the department and Auxiliary and the families who came out for the fun this year.
