Funeral services for Justin Gallegos will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Friends Church in Las Animas, Colorado. Pastor Diane Hutson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery.

Justin Bennie Gallegos was born June 14, 1995 in La Junta, Colorado and passed away on January 22, 2017, also in La Junta, Colorado at the age of 21.

Justin had a “big” heart and was kind and loving to all who knew him. When he was young, he was an avid Denver Broncos fan until his uncle from California convinced him to become an Oakland Raiders fan. His favorite television series was Family Guy. He was a wonderful son, nephew ,grandson and brother. He has numerous cousins whom he enjoyed spending time with. Justin had a terrific sense of humor. His friends nicknamed him “Jaws”, stating that once he started talking, they couldn’t get him to stop. He had a special dog named Chewy whom he taught to give the best “high-fives”. He will be missed immensely by all who knew him. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten thanks to the wonderful memories that he blessed us with.

Justin is survived by his father, Benerito Jr. “Benny” (Victoria) Gallegos of Lamar, Colorado; mother, Josefa “Jo” Sisneros of Las Animas, Colorado; siblings, Heather (Daniel) Gallegos/King of Las Animas, Colorado, Quinen Gallegos of Canon City, Colorado, Davian Gallegos, Austin Franco, Shayanne Franco, all of Lamar, Colorado; grandparents, Jesus and Stella Serna of Las Animas, Colorado; grandmother, Selma Gallegos of Las Animas, Colorado; aunts, JoAnn (Pedro) Lopez of Las Animas, Colorado, Kathy (Guy) Watts and Lori Villa, both of Memphis, Texas, Gloria (Eddie) Salas of Los Lunas of New Mexico, Mary Ann Sisneros of Las Animas, Colorado, Earlene Sisneros of Redlands, California; uncles, Alvin (Kim) Gallegos of La Junta, Colorado, Joshua Gallegos of La Junta, Colorado, Gabriel (Sherri) Gallegos of Las Animas, Colorado, Phillip Gallegos of Pueblo, Colorado, Tobias Sisneros of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ronnie Sisneros of Denver, Colorado; numerous cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Benerito Gallegos, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Justo Sisneros; and uncle, Leroy Sisneros.
