A celebration of life service for Longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, Steve Hoodenpyle, will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday December 15, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar with Pastor Paul Floyd of the High Plains Fellowship Church. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Lamar.

Visitation for Steve will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday December 14, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Steve was born on March 20, 1950 in Salem, Missouri to Glen and Geraldine Hoodenpyle and departed this life on Saturday December 10, 2016 at his home in Lamar at the age of 66 with his family by his side.

Steve was preceded in death by his father – Glen Hoodenpyle; by one brother – John Hoodenpyle; and a step-son – Craig Ortega.

Steve is survived by his wife – Gibby Hoodenpyle of Lamar; four children – April (John) Mathews of Richardson, TX; Todd (Sheila) Norris of Wheatland, MO; Christie (Chris) Isom of Lamar; and Rene (Eric) Wilkins of Yuma, AZ; by ten grandchildren – Eden, Jozlynn, Nick, Jonathan, Rachel, Chelsea, Craig, Jacqueline, Kyle, and Rebecca (Dustin); by three great grandchildren – Dawson, Jackson, and Audrey; by one sister – Shirley (Jim) Thompson of Blue Eye, MO; by his mother – Geri Hoodenpyle of Salem, MO as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Area Hospice either directly or through the funeral home office.
