Library welcomes new Youth Services Librarian

Carol-Scranton

Carol Scranton is the new Youth Services Librarian at Lamar Public Library!

Carol has lived in Lamar for most of her life. She attended Otero Junior College and studied in the Early Childhood Development Program. She enjoys working with children and is excited to resume Friday Story Hour and the Mommy and Me program in September! Carol hopes to instill the love of reading in kids of all ages. She is committed to providing resources for parents and all involved adults to help meet the literary needs of the children.

When Carol is not at work she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and of course her two dogs, Ariel and Sassy.

There is always something fun happening in the Children’s section at the library!

Stop in and color a picture, find the perfect book or thrill your mom, dad and grandparents with your very own performance in our puppet theater. Carol will welcome you with a smile and gladly help you find what you’re looking for! Carol is excited to expand the youth collections, organize the collection in a more accessible manner and collaborate with local performers, other libraries, and professionals to bring engaging programs to the library!

Carol would love to hear from you, so please don’t hesitate to contact her for questions or feedback:
