Lamar Sales Tax Maintains Growth Pace

July 2016 City Sales Tax collected in August was up 3.97% or $10,575 over the same period in 2015. Collections for July 2016 are $277,051. Total Sales and Use Tax collections were up a smaller percentage and amount at 1.27% for a gain of $3,637 for the same month last year for an up to date fee for July at $291,138.
Year to date collections were 2.34% for a total of $2,215,866, compared to last year at $2,165,257 which marks a gain of $50,608. Total Sales and Use Tax collections were up 4.54% which puts the current gain for the city at $2,453,593 which is $106,507 better than 2015’s collections of $2,347,085.
