The beat of country-western music combined with the aroma of grilled steaks and the auctioneer’s chant filled the air around the Lamar Eagles Aerie this past Saturday evening, August 27. The occasion was the annual fundraising event to benefit the Lamar Area Hospice.

The tally from the fundraising activities is still being registered, but all indications made for a great evening of dinner, dancing and bidding into the midnight hour. The funds from this Saturday are usually combined with those raised from the annual Angel Open Golf Tournament, this year, marking the 21st year of the event at Spreading Antlers Golf Course which was held in July.
