William, lovingly known to most as “Taylor” was born on October 15, 1925 in Jetmore, Kansas to Millard Ernest and Nola Ann (Huffman) Wilson. He passed away on May 26, 2016 in Pueblo, Colorado.
Taylor attended school in Vilas, Colorado through the eighth grade, a place that in his later years, as dementia took its toll, he would state that he wanted to, “go home to.” Taylor wore several hats throughout his working years. He delivered propane in Pritchett, Colorado and managed the Texaco Station in Las Animas, Colorado for a couple of years. Most of his working life was spent as a boiler operator for Fort Lyon Veteran’s Hospital in Las Animas, Colorado. He married Altha Lucille Randles in 1945. To this union, were born three children. Altha passed away in 1996. Taylor married Marjorie Maxine Albertson in 2000, she was a very loved addition to Taylor and his family. She passed away in 2005. Taylor enjoyed doing yard and mechanic work, hunting, and was a very involved and contributing member of the Friends Church in Las Animas, Colorado. His true “hobby” was his family.
Taylor is survived by his sons, Randy (Kathy) Wilson of Walsenburg, Colorado and Robert (Christina) of Silver Cliff, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Ernest and Nola Ann (Huffman) Wilson; son, Ron Wilson; three brothers, Glenn, Alvin, and Roy; and infant sister, Ruby.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Horber Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 431 Las Animas, CO 81054.
