Wear some walking shoes and make plans to attend the official ribbon-cutting of the long-awaited Lamar Loop, set for Saturday, May 4th, between 11am and 2pm.
The site will be the two, new picnic shelters at the Trail Head on the east side of Willow Creek Park. Lamar Chamber of Commerce President, Kendra Buchanan, said, “There will be free hot dogs and chips and a drink for those who attend and High Plains Community Health Center will provide free fruit and yogurt as well.” There are plans to have a live DJ providing musical entertainment through the ceremonies.
The ribbon will be cut by Lamar Mayor Roger Stagner, City Administrator John Sutherland and Rick Akers, Lamar Parks and Rec Director.
