Ronald Chamberlain…January 4, 1927 – January 4, 2019

Graveside Services for Ronald Chamberlain will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.

Ronald Woodrow Chamberlain was born on January 4, 1927 in Hamilton County, Kansas to Arthur and Eva Dee (Craven) Chamberlain. He passed away on his birthday, January 4, 2019 at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar, Colorado at the age of 92.

Ronald enlisted with the U.S. Navy in 1944 at age 17, served aboard the USS, U.S. Grant and the USS William R Rush naval ships, and was honorably discharged in 1947. Ronald was united in marriage to Bonnie Adams on December 18, 1949.  Together they lived in Syracuse where all five of their children were born.  The family later moved to Johnson, Kansas for three years before relocating to Lamar, Colorado in 1963.

Ronald enjoyed playing in a band called “Country and Western Playboys” and was also a pilot who flew the pipeline for the gas company and transported gas company executives. Ron retired from Greeley Gas company in 1985. He spent his leisure time as a licensed Ham Radio operator and was a member of the American Radio Relay League as well as the Ark Valley Side Banders.  His other love in life was working on his meticulous yard.

Ronald is survived by his children, Rhonda Alba of Aurora, Colorado, Gary Chamberlain of Lamar, Colorado, Karlan (Beth) Chamberlain of Romoland, CA, Kent (Tammie) Chamberlain of Wiley, Colorado, and Alan Chamberlain of Lamar, Colorado; siblings, Vaughn (Clara) Chamberlain of Harlowton Montana, and Mary Lou Williams of Lakin, Kansas; grandchildren Jacob (Teresa), Scott, Nolan, Chandra and Dalton Chamberlain; great grandchildren; Drew and Cole Chamberlain and many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur W and Eva Dee (Craven) Chamberlain; wife, Bonnie Chamberlain; and brother-in-law, Royce Williams.
