Colorado State Patrol Helps with the Tradition of Donations

Members of the Colorado State Patrol spent their time this past Friday, November 30th, parked at the Lamar and La Junta Walmarts, collecting toys and cash donations for their respective communities.

The Toys for Tots campaign, under the direction of Darlene Lopez and her volunteers will make their rounds for distribution on Saturday, December 22nd this year.

CSP representatives decided to lengthen their visit at the Lamar Walmart by an extra hour, until 4pm, to allow some later hour shoppers to make their donations.

Corporal Bronniman said the donations got off to a pretty brisk pace in the earlier morning hours, slacked off a bit by mid-afternoon, but by 2pm, were starting to pick up again. As evidenced by the packed CSP Cruiser, Lamar residents were responding to the need for gifts again this year.
