August Holly Commercial Club – August 1 2018
The August meeting of the Holly Commercial Club was held Wednesday, August 1 at the Holly Senior Center. The minutes were approved, and the Treasurer Report was not given, due to Darlene Bruce being ill. President Frey will forward the Treasurer Report, once it’s received. The Holly Shopper has a YTD profit at $21.78, with a $168.74 profit from the last Holly Shopper. John Golden (Golden Printing), reiterated the original purpose of the Holly Shopper and stressed that it is not, nor was ever, meant to serve as a newspaper. The Holly School Drive, organized by Chantel Fuller, was discussed. It was decided to hold off on submitting a financial donation, until the Treasure Report is supplied. Members are strongly asked to monitor their email for this message. Holly Hock-It was Saturday August 4 and Tracie Kalma (Reymans Grocery) indicated there were over 20 “registered” locations.
New Business
Jesse Frey (TBK Bank), asked the group to keep in mind the now-vacant lot that was once the Medical Billing office, for a new business or office space. If you have any leads, you are asked to contact Cammie Cathcart at TBK Bank. The property is listed through Wilson Realty, Lamar.
Discussion regarding the Friday Bluegrass Dinner was added to the agenda. No action was taken.
The Corn Hole Tournament is scheduled for Saturday September 29, during the Holly Gateway Fair/Holly Gateway Classic Car Show. The Holly Commercial Club is in need of cornhole boards plus bags. If we can acquire enough, we will potentially host a Youth Age Group, as well. If you have a set to donate for the event, please contact Jesse Frey (TBK Bank).
The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting is September 5.
