LAMAR, Colo. (July 17, 2018) – Atmos Energy is asking residents in Lamar, Colorado, to please be on the lookout for traffic detours on Parmenter Street and Stewart Place through August 3, 2018.
“We want to thank the community for your patience as we continue to make great progress on our natural gas pipe replacement projects in Lamar,” said Kurtis Paradisa, Atmos Energy Public Affairs Specialist. “Over the next three weeks you will see increased activity on Parmenter St. from 1st St. to Division St. as crews work quickly and safely to complete our system updgrades.”
Atmos Energy’s pipe replacement project is affecting the following streets:
- Parmenter Street from 1st St. to Division St.
- Stewart Pl. from Parmenter to Wilson Pl.
Atmos Energy is committed to being the safest natural gas provider in the nation.
That’s why the company is investing millions of dollars each year to modernize its natural gas system in Colorado. While the current system has performed well, gas utilities nationwide are replacing aging pipe with modern, more durable pipe.
These system updgrades have been underway in Lamar since early June, 2018 and will be complete by early August,” said Paradisa. “This is one way that we invest in growing communities and provide you with safe and reliable natural gas service.”
