Beginning August 8, 2018, Southeast Health Group (SHG) will be providing behavioral health services at 189 East 9th Street in Springfield.
“We have enjoyed a good partnership with the local hospital over the past several years,” said JC Carrica, CEO of Southeast Health Group, “but it was time to establish a place of our own. We closed on the property in June, and will be able to offer better access and expanded services in the new location.”
Phase one plans include adult and child tele-psychiatry, mental health counseling, and substance use disorder services. Peer Specialists will assist with client registrations and offer group activities. SHG also provides 24/7/365 behavioral health crisis services in Baca County, which individuals and agencies can access by calling 800-511-5446. Phase two plans include adding a fitness area and community room for classes, groups and meetings.
“We really want to be responsive to the needs of the community,” said Carrica. “This new space will allow us to provide wellness services, education and support groups, and other needs as they arise.”
SHG has been serving the southeast corner of Colorado since 1957, starting as a community mental health center and growing over the decades to include substance use disorder treatment, integrated primary care, peer services, physical therapy and wellness services. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, CHP+ and a growing list of commercial health insurances. They offer a sliding fee scale for those who pay out-of-pocket.
For more information, or to schedule an appointment in the new facility, contact Southeast Health Group at 800-511-5446 or www.southeasthealthgroup.org.
