Official Prowers County Primary Election Results Posted

The official June 26th primary election results for Prowers County were released by the County Clerk and Recorder on July 13th.
The contested GOP race for Prowers County Treasurer went to Judy Wittman with 1,232 votes and Kayla Koehn received 746 votes. As there is no other challenger for the position, Wittman will take over County Treasurer duties following her swearing-in ceremony in 2019.
Jared Polis, Democratic candidate for governor received 214 votes, Mike Johnston received 176 votes, Cary Kennedy received 153, and Donna Lynne received 58 in county voting.
The GOP Gubernatorial candidate, Walker Stapleton, received 813 votes, Victor Mitchell received 703, Greg Lopez had 241 and Doug Robinson had 114.
The contest for US Congress, District 4, was between two Democrats; Karen McCormick received 345 votes and Chase Kohne received 210.
The race for Attorney General was between two Democrats with Joe Salazar receiving 315 and Phil Weiser received 264. GOP candidate George Brauchler was unopposed and received 1,416 votes.
All other Prowers County Candidates were unopposed in their seats. Ron Cook received 1,583 votes for District 2 Commissioner, Jana Coen received 1,694 votes for Clerk & Recorder, Andy Wyatt received 1,520 votes for County Assessor, and Sam Zordel received 1,577 votes for Prowers County Sheriff. The lone democrat on the county ballot was Joe Giadone for County Coroner who received 513 votes.
The Prowers County Clerk and Recorder’s office will be closed July 16-18th for motor vehicle DRIVES training.
