Lamar Area Hospice Receives 2018 Customer Experience Award from Pinnacle Quality Insight

LAMAR, COLORADO, JUNE 6, 2018

Lamar Area Hospice, a Colorado independent, non-profit hospice organization, serving all of Prowers County and portions of Bent and Kiowa Counties, has been notified that they are the recipient of the Pinnacle Quality Insight’s 2018 Customer Experience Award. Qualifying for the award in the category of hospice/healthcare services, Lamar Area Hospice displays a continued dedication to providing Best in Class services. Deb Pelley, Executive Director, describes receiving the award as an honor stating, “We would have been disappointed with anything less than a good report. We are very committed to providing the very best care possible to our patients and their families.”

Throughout its 35-year history of serving the Lamar area, the Lamar Hospice has placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that the individual needs of every patient and their families are met. Over the course of 2017, families of Lamar Area Hospice patients have participated in monthly telephone interviews that include open-ended questions, as well the opportunity to rate Lamar Area Hospice in specific categories.

Every month, Pinnacle conducted surveys (a Medicare requirement) and presented Lamar Area Hospice with the results in order to gain a better understanding of the patients and their family’s needs and make improvements when necessary.

By qualifying for the Pinnacle Customer Experience Award, Lamar Area Hospice has satisfied the rigorous demand of scoring in the top 15% of the nation across a 12-month average. This organization had the opportunity to achieve this Best in Class distinction on a monthly basis in many categories designed to accurately reflect each patient/family’s experience.
