City of Lamar Memorial Day Schedule, City & Cemetery

All City offices will be closed on Monday, May 28, 2018 in observance of Memorial Day. The Community Building will also be closed on Monday, May 28, 2018.  The Public Library will be open Saturday, May 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will be closed Sunday, May 27th and Monday, May 28th, in observance of the holiday.   All City offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

Residential and commercial refuse collection will be collected as normally scheduled for Monday, May 28th. Please have containers in place by 6:00 a.m. or the evening before.

Cardboard collection for Monday, May 28, 2018 will be collected as normally scheduled.

NOTICE – This is the free weekend at the City Landfill and Transfer Station. The Landfill and Transfer Station will be open Saturday, May 26th from 8:30am to 3:30pm and Sunday, May 27th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.  The City Landfill only will be open Monday, May 28th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.  As a reminder all loads going to the City Landfill or the Transfer Station must be tarped.

Memorial Day decorations at Fairmount and Riverside Cemeteries can be put out at noon on Thursday, May 24th. Decorations need to be picked-up by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4th, 2018.  PLEASE NOTE:  WHILE AT THE CEMETERIES BE AWARE OF WHERE YOU WALK AND YOUR SURROUNDINGS.  CITY CREWS HAVE ENCOUNTERED RATTLESNAKES IN THE PAST AT THE CEMETERIES.

The Lamar Public Swimming Pool will begin it regular hours of operation Saturday, May 26th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00pm to 9:00 pm for regular hours of operation.
