Letter to the Editor- -Tri-State 9-11 Memorial

We are excited to announce that construction has begun on the Tri-State 9-11 Memorial south of the Big Timbers Museum!  Camp and Currell, our contractors have completed a beautiful job on both the retaining wall and the base to the 30 foot Flag Pole, which was donated by the Lamar Elks Lodge #1319.  Many thanks to Warren Camp and crew for getting this project off to such a great start.

Early ground prep was provided by Rudy Torres on fill dirt hauled to the site by Prowers County.  Electra Pro is handling all the electrical issues.  Concrete poured by All Rite Paving & Redi-Mix.

The next step will be the addition of a 30 foot Wall of Honor along with the 60 foot Maltese Cross surrounding the Flag Pole.  Home Depot of Pueblo has provided substantial support thus far, and will help us erect the Wall.  Support from the local community, local High School staff and students, and City and County departments have been tremendous.  Thanks to all involved!

If someone would like to have a loved one’s name added to the Wall of Honor, forms can be obtained at Community State Bank.  Past and current Military and 1st Responder’s names can be entered for a $50 donation.  We are also raising funds for the Memorial by having Challenge coins minted depicting the Memorial.  These coins are available for a $20 donation from Community State Bank, or through our Committee.
