Several hundred students from 12 schools from the region spent several hours in the LCC Wellness Center, visiting schools and business representatives. Six areas of employment opportunities were grouped around the perimeter of the gym where students could move from one to another as suited their interests.  These included Management and Administration, Finance, Marketing and Government and Public Administration.

Making a Selection

For the first time, representatives from the county and city were on hand including Lamar Mayor Roger Stagner and City Administrator John Sutherland. Other selections focused on Hospitality, Human Services and Education; Health Science, Criminal Justice and Public Safety; Agriculture, Natural Resources and Energy; STEM, Arts, Design and Information Technology and Skilled Trades and Technical Sciences.

Davis said as many as 42 colleges were represented at the one day event. The students also had an opportunity to visit the LCC campus for information pertaining to College Athletics, Financing and Academic Planning, Resume Writing and Job Interview Skills and Study Skills and Time Management.
