Lamar Sales Tax Revenue Report for July 2017

 

The City of Lamar Sales Tax collection report showed a healthy bump for taxes collected for July. City Sales Taxes were up 1.91% for a $5,283 growth over the same month in 2016.  2017 collections were at $282,234 while last years were at $277,051.  Total Sales and Use Tax collections for the same period were up 7.16% for a monthly gain of $20,832 with 2017 collections at $311,971 compared to last year at $291,138.

Year-to-Date collections were both up and down fractionally.   July thru August for the period was up 0.63% for a gain of $13,872 with 2016 collections at $2,215,866 for City Sales Tax and 2017 posted $2,229,738 for the same period.  Total Sales and Use Tax collections dropped a fraction by 0.70% for a loss of $17,278 when comparing 2016 to 2017.  Last year’s collections were at $2,453,593 while 2017 collections were at $2, 436,314.
