Funeral services for long time Prowers County resident, Joyce Hartshorn will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Curtis Hartshorn officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Joyce Marie (Mangan) Hartshorn was born on June 29, 1934 in Garden City, Kansas to David and Helen (Howell) Mangan. She passed away on March 26, 2017 at Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly, Colorado at the age of 82.

Joyce was united to Wallace “Babe” Hartshorn on February 10, 1957 at the Baptist Church in Holly. To this union, five children were born. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holly where she was also baptized. Joyce was a telephone operator, waitress, farm wife, and a receiving clerk at Neoplan, but her true love was providing a home for her family.

Joyce is survived by her children, Kerry (Shawna) Hartshorn of Granada, CO, Vincent Hartshorn of Granada, CO, Monte Hartshorn of Lamar, CO; Lonna (Del) Westeman of Milford, TX; son-in-law, Ronald Seybert of Granada, CO; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; siblings, Bill Sparks of Two Buttes, CO, Roylynn (Don) Von Hemel of Hot Springs, AR, Maryann O’Brien of Denver, CO, Sher Mangan of Denver, CO, George Buniger of Grand Junction, CO, and Junior Buniger of Grand Junction, CO; many other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Mangan and Helen and Clarence Sparks; husband, Babe Hartshorn; daughter, Christina Seybert; grandchildren, Kaitlin Hartshorn and Dustin Hartshorn; brother, Terry Mangan; sister, Jean Lightner; as well as many other relatives.
